I came into this cross country season determined to get my beat-up legs back up to speed. The plan was lower than normal weekly mileage, a renewed focus on strength training with coach Tim Bayley, and some racing-into-shape over the PA XC circuit. This meant a lot of humbled beatings, mostly at the hands of the venerable Will Geiken, on courses that don't suit my strengths. Coming into the PA Champs I was excited to increase the distance to a 10k, and to have long straight sections to get into a rhythm. I used these sections to gain the lead that turned into my win. It is wonderful to see my strategy work out and I'm excited to take this fitness to Kentucky.
