Jenny attended UC Davis, where she earned a BA in English and MA in Teaching while competing for the Davis Aggies. She has been teaching full time for over a decade and coaching cross-country and track & field on and off during that time. She decided to start post-collegiate running in 2008 when Kevin and Noreen Searls recruited her at the Brickyard Run in Martinez for the Aggie Centipede. Being on the team and competing in cross country and road races has motivated her to pursue her running goals in the marathon. Jenny has a daughter, Anna, who was born June 29th 2015, 7 months before the 2016 Olympic Trials, so she "had to scramble to get in shape for the race; nevertheless, the competition was a fun experience!"
Jenny lives in Clayton with her husband and daughter - they enjoy hiking, running, taking Anna to the park and swimming in the pool, and traveling to Lake Tahoe. Jenny says, "I run because I love to race and stay fit. It has allowed me to meet some amazing and inspiring people, and to travel to many fun places."
Fun Fact: Jenny's husband, a collegiate linebacker for the Nebraska Huskers, has run a 2:41 marathon. He has also served as a blocker for the women's Bay to Breaker's Centipede for several years.
