In her younger years, Heather initially thought running was boring, and was convinced that if she tried hard enough, she could become a fantastic tight-end, or better yet - a wide receiver for a college football team. Unfortunately, the football coach wasn't so sure. She then tried water polo. After that didn't work out either, she was told to come out for cross country. She wasn't so sure, but came out for the next cross country meet anyways. Despite only having a few days of practice under her belt, she won the race. Heather went on to have a successful running career at UC Davis and began racing for the Aggies in 2006.
Heather works as an attorney, is a mom, and runs her own business. She says, "Running is my zen away from all the noise, and winning is icing on the cake."
