Conover Triplets!

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to pass the word that Mark and Kelly are doing their best to further populate the world with skinny, distance runners. The trio of Cordell, Audrey and Marley were born today around 12:00pm via C-section. Apparently, after a week or so of staving off contractions with some of the most vile medication one can take, the babies decided that it was time, and Kelly's water broke this morning. Being that they are only at 28 weeks and a few days (usual "full term" is 40 weeks), the doctors were able to give Kelly some shots of steroids that help mature the babies lungs. Mary (Kelly's mom) didn't have much time to talk, as she was helping Kelly in the recovery room, but said all the babies were on ventilators and doing well, and she would call me back with more information when she had time.

Kara June and Heather Gibson both score significant PR's to headline
Stanford for the Ags this year. In the women's 10k (section 1),
Heather runs 33:33 to best her previous PR of 33:59. The time
meets the A standard for USATF Nationals in June as well as the Olympic
Trials B standard of 34:00. In the women's 3k steeple (section 1), Kara
grabs second overall, breaking the 10 minute barrier for the first time
with a PR 9:58. This time is a USATF and Olympic Trials A
mark. Her time is just above the Olympic B standard of
9:55. Videos of these fine performance as well as results can be
found here:

Extreamly warm conditions play havoc with the crew. Derego runs 2:48 for 4th overall, first US to earn barely miss the Trials standard of 2:47. The $5,000 prize money she earned should ease the pain some. JT finishes in 2:24, 6th overall and first US to barely miss the 2:22 men's Trials Standard. He walked away w/ $1,500. Sergio went out hard and paid the price. 2:29 for 8th overall and $500.

Ag host and rock in the races as well. Master's Women 1st, Open Men 3rd. Stud races of the day run by Sergio who places 3rd in the open men's race, the highest finish ever for an Aggie in an open event and Linda who wins the master's women's race after being told in the summer her career was over following foot surgery. Races of note, Crosby Freeman finishes with Paulo in the open men's race after being face down in the mud at 800 into the race. Schille in his first race since he was told he'd never run again is our second finisher right with Ivan in the men's masters race. In the open women's event, Kara finishes in 30th with Heather close behind in 35th. What a weekend it was. Full results at . Pictures online!
