| New Race Reports are up - Tuesday, March 09, 2010 Kota Reichert tells us about his experience in this year's Tokyo Marathon. He'll be home soon, and looks forward to the 'Pede. And Doug Steedman gives us a rundown of the NorCal 10 Mile in Redding. You can read all about the races here... |
| An Asics Aggie sets a New American Record at the NorCal 10-Mile! - Monday, March 08, 2010Asics Aggies took the women's and men's titles at the NorCal 10-Mile in Redding on Saturday. Linda was the only woman in the race to finish in under an hour with 57:09, setting a new American Record for women 45-49 in the process... over 2-minutes faster than the previous 18-year old record!!
Sergio took the top spot for the men with 50:51. Carlos and Kim were not too far behind our top two Aggies with a 55:41 and 61:28. Aggie Masters, Jose A., Mike G. and Doug finished within seconds of each other in 63-minutes. Congratulations Linda and Sergio, and great job everybody! First race of the season, done. |
| Roads - Bidwell Classic Half Marathon; Chico, CA - Saturday, March 06, 2010 Tim and Lindsay take respective wins at this fine Saturday half marathon. The former wildcats easily cruised to their victories well ahead of their competitors. read more ... |
| First PA Road Race of the season... and the Napa Valley Marathon - Monday, March 01, 2010 Saturday, March 6 is the first PAUSATF road race of the season, the NorCal 10 Mile. The Asics Aggies have a big contingent toeing the line. On the women's side we've got Linda, Kim C., Jenn D., Christina, and Tricia. For the 'old guys' we've got Jose A., Roger D, Mike G., Doug S. and Tom "Rigid" C. Rounding out the group are the 'young guys' -- Sergio, Carlos, Ron, Tim K. and Kevin P. (although it's questionable as to whether or not Kevin P. is 'young' anymore). Way to go, Road Captains, on getting full teams together for this event. Should be a great season opener for the Aggies!
And on Sunday, March 7, Dolores Bergmann will be representing the Aggies in the Elite field at the Napa Valley Marathon. We'll be rooting for her to lower her current personal best of 2:48, and to break that tape. After a winter of training in the snow, we know she's fit and ready. You can do it, Dolores!
GO AGGIES! Plow, plow, plow! |

| About Jack Leydig, California running & the PAUSATF - Friday, December 18, 2009Jack Leydig has played a huge roll in developing the strong running community that exists in California today. Among other things he was the president of WVTC and organized and directed many races that brought the top runners in the country. He founded the Christmas relays and also started one of the earliest racing circuits for “points” which superseded the USATF running circuits.
Some of you may know that Jack is fighting a rare form non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and seems to be recovering well after rounds of chemo. Mark Winitz calls out to the California runners to: “Run your next race in honor of him and email me about it. Recruit your buddies to do the same. I’ll pass your emails along to Jack. We owe him that kind of thanks.”
