I've been training hard for the upcoming 2008 cross country season, and I have a training question for you veteran racers: In order to be in good shape for post-race activities throughout the season, what should the ratio be between pre-run beer and post-run beer? For example, today I'm going to go out and warm up for 2 or 3 miles, then do some short intervals, then cool down for 2 or 3 mles. I'm thinking the proper ratio (for me) is somewhere around 0 to 2, or maybe 1 to 3. Your thoughts? |

| I believe your end goal should be to consume at least one beer per mile at rec. pace and two @ interval pace and three @ anarobic max. Needing to be most numb at your threshold is essential for successful post-race celebration/activity. |

| Ahhhh, so. Thanks Mr. Hongo. I've heard a lot of conflicting advice on this aspect of training, which is not surprising, considering how important it is. I will probably attempt to work up to what you suggest, as I currently cannot run at anaerobic max long enough to drink even 1 beer. Thank you for your advice! |
